TJUHSD Visual and Performing Arts Department is committed to providing students with meaningful opportunities to explore and engage in the visual and performing arts. Through a collaborative, inclusive, and supportive learning environment, the department inspires all students to pursue academic and artistic excellence while developing a lifelong appreciation for learning and becoming confident, productive members of their communities.
The value of visual and performing arts in a child’s development is well established. Arts education enhances academic achievement, fosters social and emotional growth, encourages creativity, and provides students with meaningful opportunities for self-expression. By engaging in the arts, students develop critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills that extend beyond the classroom. Arts education elevates learning, nurtures the whole child, and serves as an essential and transformative component of a well-rounded educational experience.
